Bittersweet Honey

People say that when a person is closer to the end, it greatly changes his perspective in life. This holds true for our heroines as well. As high school slowly draws closer to the end, Kumiko starts to change little by little. While that doesn't prevent her from being stuck in class 3A's craziness, it barely manages to get her out from some very sticky situations...

But when Kumiko insists that she'll be alright on her own, why does she seem to be convincing herself more than others? Has high school given her what she always wanted to have? Or has it become a repeat of her fourth grade Dark Ages?

And last but not the least, why doesn't anyone believe her when she says that she does NOT like any 'normal people'?!?

Why is Kumiko not 'posting' much now? She's either busy with school, or busy lurking on some anime website, as per usual. (But usually the latter.)

Before Kumiko Hanataba was just a freshman, now she's a sophomore. However, it seems she hasn't changed in any way... Still anime-loving, still chubby, still petite, Kumiko-chan seems to look more like a grade-schooler than a high schooler with each passing day... With academic expectations rising even higher for Kumiko, can she reach out and grab them? Can she still enjoy life like an ordinary thirteen year old schoolgirl? Apparently she can, and let's see how she does it! And could she become friends with Mimura Chiisaiko again without having to be touted as an OTP for the nth time in the eight years they've known each other? Are the friends she got just right for the crazy ride of high school, or will they break her heart just like someone did in her fourth grade memories? Why couldn't things be like before? No matter what happens, Kumiko should stay strong!

From Kumiko Hanataba's first day in high school she knew something chaotic was thrown in the works. Elections, clubs, lessons, tests, crammed schedules, "ane-sans", truth-or-dare, hidden crushes to find out, and of course, Kumiko's favorite - recess. There's always something to do when you hit high school full-on! Bittersweet Honey Princess  continues on what the story left off - this time, with an even crazier batch of characters and Kumiko Hanataba's daily struggles as a freshman. New characters like Mimura Chiisaiko(Kumiko's classmate of seven years and childhood crush), Sara Marielle Schutzer(an aspiring German poet who has eyes for Shiro, and, later, Mimura), Nica Janelle Lee(a potential social butterfly with test scores rivaling Kumiko) appear and add craziness. Of course there's still Takumi, Cho, and Yoshiko, who seem to be happy watching in the background.

Kumiko Hanataba and her friends seem to always be in some sort of trouble. Whether it’s about food, Cosplay, Japanese games or foreign languages, they seem to show the impression of always being happy. Frustrated Japanese Kumiko obsesses about anime and candy. Shy, timid Cho tries to find her own beautiful voice. Popular girl Yoshiko tries to always pull herself together. And while idealistic Mamoru tries to finish his story, normal guy Takumi tries to keep Kumiko from being crazy due to occasional sugar-rushes, bingeing or being able to speak no other language but German. Bittersweet Honey is all about the innocence and craziness of childhood and how people need to loosen up once in a while.
